Open Doors Unveils New Economic Opportunity Hub in Norwalk Area
Open Doors is proud to announce the launch of its new Economic Opportunity Hub (EOH), a non-profit program designed to empower individuals in the greater Norwalk area to achieve greater financial stability and upward economic mobility.
The EOH represents an evolution of Open Doors’ services beyond the existing Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) model that Open Doors has deployed successfully over the last three years in partnership with the Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC). The rebranding of this service to the Economic Opportunity Hub represents the formal end of the LISC partnership and Open Doors’ plan to customize and better integrate the service into Open Doors’ overall service model. The EOH is a cornerstone of Open Doors’ continued evolution of services and a vehicle to reach a broader set of clients in the Norwalk area.
The Economic Opportunity Hub will provide individuals accepted into the program with access to a dedicated and experienced team offering complimentary educational, training, and support services. Specifically, the goal is to help clients develop essential work and personal relationship skills, job search training to acquire better-paying jobs, as well as skills to manage personal debt, increase credit scores, and increase savings. The program is designed to assist those seeking to break free from financial insecurity and create a foundation for long-term financial security, confidence, and well-being.
“We are thrilled to introduce the Economic Opportunity Hub as the next step in our mission to empower individuals in the Norwalk area to achieve their financial goals,” said Tiffany Porter-Jamison, Senior Director of Programs at Open Doors. “This program represents our commitment to providing comprehensive support and resources for those striving to build a more secure future for themselves and their families.”
Michele Conderino, CEO of Open Doors, added, “The evolution of the EOH provides Open Doors with a truly full range of services, including the portfolio of Economic Security services that Open Doors has been traditionally known for (Shelter, Street Outreach, Food, Clothing, Language services) and now expansion into Economic Opportunity Services (Employment and Financial Competency services).”
