Fairfield County students raise money, food in Feeding 500: ‘One person can make a difference’

Students across lower Fairfield County are honing real-world business skills while serving thousands of hungry individuals from their communities in a partnership with Open Doors.

Roughly 200 students run Feeding 500, a program launched by a New Canaan High School student looking to address hunger in his community in 2021, representing Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Westport, Wilton, and Larchmont, New York.

The student leaders run branches of the Feeding 500 program at their schools and in their towns to bring food and financial donations to Open Doors, which administers the donations.
