Norwalk’s Affordable Housing Plan finds critical gaps, 40% of city residents are cost-burdened
The results of Norwalk’s Affordable Housing Needs Assessments reveal gaps in the city’s housing supply.
In all, 10 percent of Norwalk’s housing stock is affordable, well above several neighboring towns. However, the city could still be doing more.
“I think sometimes as a society we get very caught up in who’s to blame for what’s happening,” said Michele Conderino, executive director of Open Doors and advisory committee member. “That’s not the point here. The point is we have a city that is really struggling, and we have to acknowledge that and be open.”
